    READY (Restoring the Environment and Developing Youth) Seeks Crew Leaders & Crew Members

    Restoring the Environment and Developing Youth (READY) is a program working to create green jobs for young adults (16 to 24 years old) while improving watershed health through the reduction of stormwater runoff and providing additional environmental protection services. READY is a partnership between the Alliance, People Acting Together in Howard (PATH), Industrial Areas Foundation, Howard County, and Howard EcoWorks.
    READY Crew Leader:
    Description:
    READY Crew Leaders instruct, supervise, and lead a crew of 5 Crew Members throughout their daily work activities. These activities include construction of rain gardens and conservation landscapes, maintenance, invasive plant removals, stream cleanups, and more. Crew Leaders are expected to communicate clearly with operational and administrative staff to facilitate the coordination and logistics of daily work. Crew Leaders are expected to attend training on June 26th  and work until the end of the Summer Program on August 11th. Crew Leaders are paid a wage of $14/hr.
    Qualifications: 
    Must be at least 21 years old and have worked for the READY program at least 1 previous season
    Must have a valid Maryland Drivers License
    Demonstrate a strong sense of leadership, maturity, punctuality, good communication skills, and good decision making skills.

    READY Crew Leader Assistant:
    Description:
    The READY Crew Leader Assistant position is new for the Summer 2017 program. Crew Leader Assistants will work with their Crew Leader to assist them in any way they need. Tasks typical to a Crew Leader Assistant include but are not limited to: daily work updates, delegating work to Crew Members, communicating with the operation staff, and taking over the daily responsibilities of the Crew Leader in the event of their absence. Assistant Crew Leaders are expected to attend training on June 26th  and work until the end of the Summer Program on August 11th. Crew Leaders are paid a wage of $12/hr.
    Qualifications:
    Must be at least 18 years old and have worked for the READY program at least 1 previous season
    Must have a valid Maryland Drivers License
    READY Crew Member:
    Description:
    READY Crew Members are the heart and soul of the READY Program. Crew Members work in teams of 5 under the direction of their Crew Leaders to construct and maintain rain gardens and conservation landscapes around Howard County. Crew Members also engage in other exciting environmental work  such as tree plantings, tree maintenance, invasive removals,  stream clean ups, and much more.  Crew Members are expected to work the duration of the Summer Program starting July 3rd through August 11th. Crew Members are paid a wage of $10/hr.
    Qualifications:
    Must be at least 16 years old
    Must have a reliable form of transportation to get to work each morning
    Must have a positive attitude and work ethic
