EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY:
Natural Resources Conservation

We are seeking a part-time, temporary employee to market and develop soil and water quality conservation plans. A successful candidate must have EXCELLENT communication skills and knowledge of farming and natural resource issues—“cold calls” may be required. Connections with the local farming community are desirable. If you have experience in marketing and sales as well, your application moves to the “top of the pile.”

Position is 24 hours/week, M-F with occasional weekend or evening hours for outreach events. Position will be open until filled with a target employment start date of April 1, 2011 and is expected to continue through October 2011.

Conservation plans are used to develop and maintain mutually beneficial relationships with the farming community, maximize production without degrading natural resources, and meet local Chesapeake Bay watershed goals. Our agency seeks voluntary implementation of our recommendations—we are non-regulatory. Planning services, technical assistance related to recommendations, and information about financial incentives to help farmers, are always offered FREE.
