A postgraduate internship is available at the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) Office of Wetlands, Oceans and Watersheds (OWOW). The intern will be served with the Assessment and Watershed Protection Division (AWPD), Nonpoint Source Control Branch (NPSCB). The intern will be trained by the lead for the Healthy Watersheds Initiative (HWI). The HWI is an exciting new initiative that seeks to protect, conserve, and maintain our nation’s remaining healthy watersheds by taking a holistic watershed systems approach to aquatic ecosystem protection.
This internship will provide an opportunity for a thorough understanding of the Healthy Watersheds approach and its application in EPA, state, and local programs; exposure to launching a new initiative at EPA; and exposure to individuals both within and external to government agencies who identify and protect healthy watersheds. The intern will be provided with the opportunity to help shape and implement the HWI.
