Interested in pursuing a graduate degree in marine science? Join the Virginia Institute of Marine Science (VIMS) for its upcoming webinars. During these sessions, VIMS faculty, staff, and students will help you explore the field of marine science, the graduate program at William and Mary’s School of Marine Science, the graduate school application process, and potential careers.

Part 1: Charting Your Course in Marine Science at VIMS, on November 3rd, will explore the field of marine science and how a graduate degree from the William & Mary School of Marine at VIMS can open the door to broad career opportunities. VIMS faculty, students, and admissions staff will discuss the fields of study you can pursue and the diverse career opportunities available in marine science, as well as what makes the School of Marine Science at VIMS a leader in graduate education.

Part 2: Tour of the School of Marine Science, on November 13th, will provide an overview of the VIMS campus and the spaces that are critical to graduate student success. These spaces range from the research facilities and lab spaces to the classrooms, library, and community areas. VIMS students will walk you through the areas on campus that are important to them and can answer your questions about what being a student at VIMS is actually like.

Part 3: Navigating the Application Process, on November 18th, will help you understand the application process at VIMS. VIMS faculty and students, including members of the admissions committee, will discuss what makes a strong applicant.

These programs are designed for individuals interested in pursuing a graduate degree in marine science. Come prepared to ask questions of our faculty, students, and admissions staff.
