Green Adventure Project (GAP), a nonprofit, educates and inspires students of all ages to discover, understand, and connect with our natural world. GAP’s Program Director position is a leadership position and responsibility areas include staff supervision, hiring and training, educational program development and implementation, outreach and promotion, fiscal, administrative, facilities and equipment management.
The Program Director position provides a unique opportunity for an innovative, experienced and highly-skilled team player to take an active role in the development of content-rich and best practices programming and initiatives that will further GAP’s mission and goals.
Green Adventure Project provides hands-on environmental education programs to all ages and diverse populations. GAP works with private and public schools, Scouts, homeschoolers, community organizations, summer programs and individuals. Our experiential nature and science programs cover a wide range of disciplines including biology, ecology, chemistry, and physical science, sustainability-related areas, outdoor living skills and adventure education. Opportunities exist to lead overnight trips including rock climbing, canoeing, caving and backpacking. Evening and weekend duties may be required.
GAP is based at a beautiful 35-acre day camp (Triple C Camp, with on-site nature and science center) in the Charlottesville, Virginia area.
Salary: $32,000 – $38,000 range.
