The oyster culture program at the University of Maryland Center for Environmental Science Horn Point Laboratory (http://www.hatchery.hpl.umces.edu/) is accepting applications for summer internships. The oyster hatchery, one of the largest on the east coast, produces oyster larvae and spat for restoration activities throughout the Maryland portion of Chesapeake Bay. The facility includes large larval tanks housed indoors, a greenhouse for algal production, and over fifty outside setting tanks.
This is a seasonal internship that will run from as early as May through September. Some weekend and holiday work is required along with occasional irregular hours.
