We want to share this exciting new one-stop-shop resource, the Chesapeake Youth and Young Professionals Portal, for young people considering a career in the environmental field and looking for the next best opportunity whether it is a job, internship, corps, or training program. Throughout the Chesapeake Bay agencies, organizations, and companies are using the Portal as an outreach tool to promote: (1) entry level and early career positions in the environmental field or (2) career development and training program opportunities targeting young people (age high school to 25)

How do I find a job or program opportunity on the Chesapeake Youth & Young Professionals Portal? Go to www.chesapeakenetwork.org/groups/chesapeake-youth-portal and click on the Jobs tab where you can use the filter feature to narrow down your job search. You can also click on the Programs tab to access a database of the existing workforce development programs throughout the Chesapeake Bay region that are available each year to young people such as internships, corps, fellowships, and other training programs. Finally you can receive regular notifications of open jobs and opportunities that are posted by registering to the Chesapeake Network and adding the Portal as one of your groups.

How do I post a job or job training opportunity? Go to www.chesapeakenetwork.org, login or register, click Submit a Post, and then click on Job to post an open job, internship, or other opportunity. Please help us populate it with more job and program opportunities, events, and announcements, and share it widely to increase its use – by employers, those who manage job skills development programs, and young people looking for jobs, experiences, and training.

This is an effort of Project Green Classrooms, a statewide initiative working to promote outdoor learning and discovery, environmental literacy, and career exploration in partnership with the Alliance for Chesapeake Bay who has supported this effort and hosting the portal on their Chesapeake Network site.

Feel free to share this email with anyone who would be interested in accessing the Portal to search for job, internship, or training program opportunities or post these types of opportunities on the site.
