Join Maryland’s leading advocacy groups for a statewide activist training to support Maryland’s growing Make Polluters Pay campaign. On Saturday, April 11th, community members, advocates, students, and partner organizations will gather from across the state to build the movement to hold major fossil fuel companies accountable for the costs of climate change.

Maryland is working toward establishing a Climate Superfund, which would require the largest polluting companies to pay for the damage caused by climate impacts like extreme heat, flooding, and rising energy costs. A statewide study to calculate these financial harms is already underway, with legislation planned for 2027. Building the public support needed to win will take people organizing across Maryland.

Hosted by Mothers Out Front and the Chesapeake Climate Action Network (CCAN), this training is the best chance to get involved. Attendees will have the opportunity to hear from expert speakers about climate superfund policy and Maryland’s organizing strategy, learn effective grassroots organizing strategies, and gain the tools needed to support the Make Polluters Pay campaign as we work toward passing Climate Superfund legislation in 2027. All are welcome, no prior experience needed!
