This year, Soak It Up! is especially meaningful as we celebrate our 10th anniversary and the growth and development of Holly Hills, Howard EcoWorks’ 16-acre property in Glenwood, MD. Last year’s fundraising efforts helped make the foundations for Holly Hills possible. This year, we’re working to transform the property into a functional, operational space that can serve as a hub for environmental education, workforce development, community engagement, and conservation.

WHY SOAK IT UP! MATTERS

Howard EcoWorks is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to empowering communities and diverse workforces to conserve and restore our natural resources for future generations. Through our conservation and workforce development programs, we create environmental impact while providing training, career pathways, and hands-on opportunities in the green industry.

In 2025, Howard EcoWorks planted 1,008 native trees and shrubs, installed 7,634 native plants, visited 235 project sites, created 47 employment opportunities, provided 104 professional development opportunities, and engaged 482 volunteers in conservation and community improvement efforts. Every year we increase our impact in local communities, and we’ve grown so much in the past decade from a single summer program to a year-round, fully operational organization.
