Annapolis Maritime Museum & Park – Paid Internship- Indigenous History and Education

Internship Announcement

The Annapolis Maritime Museum & Park (AMM) is excited to announce a paid spring internship to assist with the research, planning and execution of programs related to MD250 and Maryland Day activities for the Annapolis Maritime Museum.    The paid internship will allow a student with an interest in both historical museum programming and Indigenous cultures to contribute to the development of an elementary lesson program that focuses on the Indigenous Peoples relationship with the natural resources of the Chesapeake Bay.

AMM educates about the area’s maritime heritage and Chesapeake Bay ecology through exhibits, programs, and events.  Our Education Center serves 14,000+ students and adults, fostering critical thinking and outdoor experiences.  AMM seeks to establish an educational program that will enable students to identify Indigenous Tribes of the Chesapeake Region and to facilitate a meaningful understanding of Natives peoples’ relationship with natural resources of the Chesapeake Bay.  This project will be directly linked to MD 250 goals and objectives by sharing and honoring inclusive stories in our state’s past.
