About the Friends of Jug Bay Wetlands Sanctuary
Friends of Jug Bay Wetlands, Inc. (FOJB) is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization dedicated to
supporting the preservation and conservation of the Jug Bay Wetlands Sanctuary (JBWS), a
natural area within the Anne Arundel County Department of Recreation and Parks. FOJB
advances environmental education, promotes scientific research (including citizen science), and
fosters partnerships that increase public awareness and appreciation of Jug Bay, the Patuxent
River, and its watershed. JBWS is located in Lothian, Maryland.

Engagement Overview
FOJB seeks an experienced nonprofit professional to serve as Director of Operations in an
independent contractor capacity. This role supports the FOJB Board by managing grants and
developing strategic organizational capabilities. Currently, FOJB is managing several large
ecological restoration contracts and therefore seeks a person having project management
experience, as well as other skills or experience in nonprofit operations as listed below.
The contractor will liaise with the Board of Directors, JBWS staff, volunteers, donors, and
external partners. Organizational authority and governance remain with the Board of Directors.
