This position will work with landowners and conservation agencies to support the Forest Health Program, including adapting forest management to a changing climate, improving response to invasive species affecting forest health, and incorporating wildlife habitat and landscape context into forest recommendations. It includes support for the Forest Legacy working forest conservation program. Work includes outreach to landowners and organizations, collecting forest inventory data, developing recommendations for management of forest stands, developing planting plans for buffers and other tree planting, invasive species control and recommendations, wildlife habitat improvement projects, site visits and sampling for forest health issues, monitoring forest easements, and working with other local, state, and federal agencies to improve forest management and health.

Note: Applicants must be willing to work outdoors in a variety of weather conditions.
