My Background:Originally from Michigan, but grew up in many different parts of New Mexico and Michigan. Moved to Maryland around 1991 and to Frostburg in 1994. I became interested in the environment at a young age, always wanting to plant trees and care for gardens. We never owned property when I was a child, so I never got to see a tree that I planted grow. I often measure memories by trees. I would set in my Granddand's tree filled yard and watch the clouds pass by. Returning to that yard, many of the trees are gone… and only one new one has been planted (that was in the 80's).

My Work History: Recent work has been in Western Maryland. Community Development roles for the Cities of Cumberland and Frostburg. Environmental Specialist for the City of Cumberland since 2006 . It is great to have a job in the field that I studied; however, I have goals of working in the Natural Resources realm in the future (utilitizing more Biology).
My Interests: Walking, hiking, traveling, and generally enjoying the outdoors. My husband and I do nature vacations and have supported Jack Johnson's Kokua Festival 3 different years. This interest lead to an opportunity to volunteer for and meet Jack Johnson in Ohio! I distributed info on the environmental organizations that Jack Johnson supported on his 2008 and 2010 tours and had the opportunity to talk environmental conservation with thousands of people.
