My Background: UMBC '13 graduate with a B.A. in Environmental Studies. Certified Master Watershed Steward in Howard County.My Work History: READY Crew Member under the Alliance for the Chesapeake Bay (Sept. '15- Present).Installing rain gardens, conservation landscapes and small-scale stormwater management practices in Howard County.Patapsco Heritage Greenway (Sept. '13- March '15).As a Stream Captain I have assisted the Director of Environmental Restoration and Education Programs in setting up workshops, watershed cleanups, tree plantings and maintenance, invasive plant removals and service learning fairs. I have experience in using Microsoft Access to record volunteer database information, using Excel to record and edit the year's events, Constant Contact, and uploading and editing event photos onto Smugmug.Lauren's Garden Service, LLC (March – Nov. '14).Crew member assisted in building rain gardens, installing pea gravel walkways, stone patios, and conservation landscapes. Additional work included the monthly maintenance of existing garden beds; pruning, mulching, planting and transplanting.My Interests: Gardening, stormwater management, alternative energy and natural resources, listening to music, and variety puzzles. I would like to learn more about phytoremediation and bioremediation.
