My Background:
I hail from the Pacific Northwest and hold a Masters in Public Policy from Duke University, and a Bachelor of Arts from the Universityof Washington. I live on Capitol Hill in Washington, DC with my husband and two delightful daughters.
My Work History:
I am the Director of the National Fish and Wildlife Foundation’s Eastern Partnership Office. Prior to this position I managed NFWF's Chesapeake programs for seven years. I joined NFWF in 2006 after nine years at the Environmental Protection Agency, where I promoted community-based environmental management and innovations in EPA’s watershed programs as a policy analyst in the Office of Policy, Economics and Innovation.I also served as the community watershed coordinator at EPA’s Chesapeake Bay Program office, where I developed resources, tools and networks to support local watershed management in the context of the overall Chesapeake Bay restoration effort.
My Interests:
I'm interested in just about everything — hence the duo of journalism and public policy as fields of study! I am especially interested in green infrastructure and how we restore landscape function to disturbed environments in order to maintain and sustain the delivery of ecosystem services. (How's that for a little jargon!) I also enjoy SciFi in film and print, exploring the outdoors with my family, and planning and taking family vacations.
