Holly Waldman is an Environmental Scientist with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. She graduated with a B.S. in Chemistry from the University of Maryland in 1999 and a M.S. in Environmental Engineering from Johns Hopkins University in 2005. Prior to joining the Chesapeake Bay Program Office, Holly worked for nearly eight years in the Office of Ground Water and Drinking Water at EPA Headquarters in Washington, DC. For the past year, she has worked on source water protection related issues and was the coordinator for the Source Water Collaborative. Comprised of 23 national organizations, the Collaborative was formed in order to further the goals of protecting sources of drinking water. Prior to her work in EPA’s source water program, Holly’s focus was on assisting small drinking water utilities to meet federal drinking water compliance through regulatory tool development. She managed and coordinated the Technology Assistance Center (TAC) grants, among whom she successfully generated a network of the eight grant recipients in order to foster collaboration and maximize resources; she encouraged recipient partnerships with other agencies and stakeholders in the drinking water community, and organized, managed, and effectively leveraged these available resources to achieve environmental results, thereby accomplishing strategic goals and organizational objectives. Holly is an Annapolitan by birth and grew up crabbing and fishing on the Bay. She has a personal interest in what’s being done to protect and save this incredible estuary. She loves spending time with family and friends, and as an avid sailor enjoys racing in the PCRC Wednesday night races. She also lives on the water in Annapolis, MD with her husband and their two children – Caleb and John Michael. Holly is ecstatic! to be joining the Chesapeake Bay Program Office.
