My Background: I am a native of Baltimore, Maryland. I graduated from Rollins College with a B.A. in Environmental Studies and I have an M.S. in Environmental Science and Policy from Johns Hopkins University. I have had the good fortune to study water and waste management in the Dominican Republic and environmental sustainability in Costa Rica. I am currently studying social marketing through the University of South Florida.
My Work History: I joined the Trust in 2007 and now lead the Outreach and Community Engagement Grant Program and the Mini Grant Program. I work with funding partners, non-profit organizations, community leaders, and schools to identify and develop projects that build Chesapeake Bay stewards through environmental education, on-the-ground restoration, and community engagement activities. Prior to working with the Chesapeake Bay Trust, I worked as an environmental scientist with SAV Engineers and as a marine mammal trainer at the Miami Seaquarium.
My Interests: Professionally I am interested in how to better engage the public through effective behavior change strategies / social marketing models. I am a Maryland Master Gardener and a certified open water diver. I live with my husband Doug, and my amazing dogs Rilo and Kiley. I love swimming, hiking, and traveling in my spare time.
