About You |
I am a BS in Natural Resources Management and Protection from the Universidad Estatal a Distancia in San José, Costa Rica. I have been part of AWS’ Stewardship Team since 2009 as a Natural Resource Specialist. Some of duties include ecological restoration work, invasive plant management, reforestation, wetland revegetation, meadow creation and other restoration projects. I am an ISA Certifed Arborist (MA-5362A) and a Certified Pesticide Applicator in MD and DC. I also supervise AWS' Stewardship Interns and lead volunteer events where people get involved in hands on restoration work. Before working for AWS I worked for 6 years in Costa Rica doing biodiversity conservation, ecosystem restoration, environmental education and natural resources management. My extensive experience in both North America and Central America as well as my hands-on technical skills, biodiversity conservation and restoration experience; leadership skills; good people skills form a skillful and reliable natural resource management professional.
My main interests are fish, wildlife, plants and botany, ecological restoration, invasion biology, botany and conservation biology.
