My Background and Work History:
Originally from Kansas City, Missouri, I detoured for college to Colorado State University where I received a bachelor's degree in Wildlife Biology with a concentration in Conservation Biology. I am currently pursuing a Master's degree in Natural Resources Management from the Falls Church campus of Virginia Tech.
I work at the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service in Arlington, Virginia, as a Wildlife Biologist/NAWCA Small Grants Program Officer. Prior to this position, I worked at the National Fish and Wildlife Foundation as the Assistant Program Director of the Chesapeake and Five Star Programs at NFWF. Before that, I was a grants manager for the Marine Programs at NFWF.
Prior to my work with NFWF, I spent 3 years as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Madagascar where I worked with the National Parks in the areas of environmental education and tourism development. I have also spent time volunteering for the Colorado Division of Wildlife, the National Zoo, and the Missouri Department of Conservation.
My Interests:
I enjoy watching wildlife in its 'natural' habitat (original or restored!), skiing of all kinds, hiking, swimming and travelling.
