My Background:
I have over 30 years experience in the field of community planning and landscape architecture. In September of 2006 he was hired as the first Executive Director for the Susquehanna Greenway Partnership. Prior to this position I ran my own consulting firm, specializing in community planning, watershed conservation, greenways, open space, and trails.
My Work History:
I have a Masters Degree in Landscape Architecture from Harvard University, and a BS Degree in Landscape Architecture from Penn State University including foreign study at the University of Lisbon, Portugal. He is a licensed Landscape Architect and Professional Planner. Over the course of my career I have worked for several architectural and engineering consulting firms where I pioneered the use of Geographic Information Systems as a tool for projects dealing with urbanization and change scenarios.
My Interests:
The Susquehanna Greenway represents for me a convergence of my professional skills and interests aimed at creating opportunities and solutions for healthy living through sustainable design and environmental stewardship that also serve as key drivers for economic prosperity for the entire region. I am also co-owner of the Josie Porter Farm in Cherry Valley with my wife Heidi Secord. The farm supoorts and runs the Cherry Valley CSA.
