10 years’ experience in the fields of Environmental Consulting, Policy, Education, and Science. Originally from Tallahassee, Florida, Ms. Pope moved to Maryland in 2007 in order to pursue her Master’s degree while working as an environmental consultant. Both during and after her graduate studies, Ms. Pope worked as a consultant on environmental projects for the United States Navy (USN), Federal Highway Administration (FHWA), United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), United States Department of the Interior (DOI) and Computer Sciences Corporation (CSC). In May of 2010, Ms. Pope left the private sector to join St. Mary’s County Government as an Environmental Planner. There she reviewed Critical Area and floodplain permit applications and helped homeowners and members of the development community navigate the local, state, and federal regulatory process. During her time with St. Mary’s County Government Ms. Pope completed certification trainings through the Wetland Training Instute, FEMA-Emergency Management Institute, American Planning Association, University of Maryland, and College of Southern Maryland.
