Want to engage youth and adults in a community building activity that expresses your care for Creation?  Interfaith Partners for the Chesapeake is excited to share this FREE program, Trees for Sacred Places, that delivers all of these benefits along with spiritual and environmental workshops offering teachings on stewardship of the earth and waters. We are looking for several congregations, retreat centers, camps or religious schools, etc. located in Prince Georges’s County, Howard County, the Eastern Shore and statewide.     Contract Videographer-Request for Proposals

    IPC seeks Video Production services for our new “One Water Partnership” initiative in the Jones Falls in Baltimore.

    Video contractor will create a 5 to 10-minute mini-video documenting the journey these congregations will have undergone over the next 1-2 years through the One Water Partnership.
    Video shall include live footage and interviews from a variety of the participating congregations, and should showcase various aspects of their engagement such as reflective times, restoration activities (i.e. planting trees, picking up trash), and engaging in broader efforts such as meeting with their state legislators or hosting a community educational workshop.
    The video shall evoke emotion and compel the viewer to want to engage their congregation in similar activities.
    The video should display the spiritual and moral urgency of engaging in restoration work.
    The congregations will begin their reflective/planning stages in spring 2017 and will complete most of their activities by spring 2018. The video should be prepared during this time, and be completed in June 2018.

    Interfaith Partners for the Chesapeake (IPC) seeks a Design Consultant to help us effectively communicate to our target audience the launching of a new initiative and what it offers congregations in terms of resources and engagement support. The initiative is in Baltimore with a focus on the Jones Falls Watershed. Our target audience consists of people faith, clergy, faith leaders, and staff at congregations of all denominations.     This faith-based course, created and instructed by Interfaith Partners for the Chesapeake, will focus on equipping faith leaders with the spiritual knowledge, communication skills, and organizing capacity to lead their communities of faith to be engaged in care for Creation and watershed stewardship. Hosted by the Church of the Redeemer in Baltimore. This workshop is brought to you free of charge through Blue Water Congregations which is a program of Blue Water Baltimore, Interfaith Partners for the Chesapeake and the National Fish and Wildlife Foundation

    Session 1:   Inspire and Lead your Faith Community – June 14, 6-9 p.m.

    Creation Care for Congregations: Connecting Faith to Action

    Tools for Faith Based Organizing and Mobilizing Creation Care Ministry

    This is a faith-based course created and instructed  by Interfaith Partners for the Chesapeake,

    Learn about how different faiths address these questions: Why do you feel called to care for Creation? What specific sources inspire you from your faith tradition or sacred texts?  Methods and models for doing outreach within your own faith tradition and within an interfaith context will be explored. Specific tools and strategies will be offered for helping the congregation move toward developing an earthcare ministry, green team, or environmental stewardship program. Participants will be guided to develop their own communications such as a press release, bulletin announcement, or a blessing or prayer for a watershed project.

This FREE tree planting program provides everything you need to turn large lawns or barren areas into watershed renewing tree canopy and healthy habitats for wildlife. Includes a spiritual educational workshop and technical support to teach how to plant and maintain the FREE trees. Available to congregations or any faith owned facility throughout Maryland.
